Tech Tip: Canvas Notifications

I enjoyed exploring this tech tip option this week. I knew there were notifications in canvas but I did not make use of them.
Through this tip, I made it so that I get notifications when grades are posted. I like this, because a lot of the time I will be sitting around checking every 10 minutes for a grade to be posted. This way, I know exactly when it is so that I may go look at it.

This tip was very helpful, and I will continue to make use of it in my future classes!

Google Timer Tech Tip

I actually had no idea that Google had a timer! I struggle with time management sometimes, and I will definitely be using this tool in the future. 

Usually I just look at the clock and say, okay well in 30 minutes I will move on to my next assignment. But this technique has not been effective. I think the Google timer is cool because it alerts you when the time you set is up! A lot of times when I use the watch-the-clock technique, I end up not sticking to my times.

I think this is a great tool especially for people who struggle with the same issue I do, but it's great for anyone! Everyone needs a little reminder every now and then.

Tech Tip: Canvas Profile

I already had a profile picture for canvas because another class I was in required it. However, I did not know about all the other features. It was cool getting to see all the different things that I can do! I did not add any links, but I did change my photo. I could also see myself adding things to my biography later down the road. This tip was super helpful.

Tech Tip: Canvas Calendar

This week, I looked at the tech tip on Canvas' calendar tool. I actually had no idea you could make your own calendar in Canvas. Obviously I knew that I could view dates that the professor put in, but knowing I can make my own schedule was really helpful.

I have not started using the canvas calendar yet. Currently, I just use a planner, and if something is super important I will put it in my phone as an alert just so I don't let it slip my mind.
I will definitely start using the canvas tools next semester, because I think they could be very helpful in my time management.

Tech Tip: Canvas Mobile App

I honestly had no idea that there was even an app for Canvas! I downloaded it and logging on was quick and easy. I will for sure be using it on my phone because a lot of times I will get an email that an assignment has been graded, then it's a hassle to log onto canvas through the internet. This tip was very helpful!!

Oh and I have an iPhone!

I love Pinterest! I do not use it very much, but I love pinning fun recipes that I want to try, and also wedding idea pictures!! I think this site is a great way to get new ideas on so many things. Designing, cooking, planning events, gift ideas, etc.
